Women Cell, School of Liberal Arts organized an interactive workshop on ‘Life Skills: Innovative Approaches for Stress Management’ on 27th December 2022 in Seminar Hall, UIT. The workshop aimed to create a platform for the students and faculty members to acquire knowledge about stress and how to reduce their day to day and enhance resilience skills to manage it. The workshop created an optimistic platform for everyone, as most adolescents, college students and young adults experience negative vices and distress in their surroundings.
The Guest Dr Piyush Praveenchandra Trivedi, Facilitator and counselor, Centre for Scientific Spirituality, Dev Sanskriti University introduced the term ‘Stress’ and its types- eustress and distress’. He also explained that stress can be defined as any type of change that causes physical, emotional or psychological strain. Stress is our body's response to anything that requires attention or action and how we encounter with it.
During an interactive session with the students and faculty members he suggested exercising and rest when encountered with symptoms of stress. The workshop was extremely informative and educational wherein few tips and exercises were demonstrated to manage stress effectively.
The event was coordinated by Dr Pinki Chugh,Member Secretary and Mr Jageshwar Ray, member, Women Cell, under the guidance of Dean-SLA, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar. The workshop turned out to be a grand success with everyone’s cooperation, it was insightful and enlightening.
