The conference on 14th October was headed by the invited talks of Prof. Frank Bruno from the University of South Australia and Dr. Andrews Haeur from Universitat Munchen, Germany, on the importance of thermal energy storage systems and their augmentation at the commercial level. Further, a keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Pankaj Kumar, National Technical Expert, UNIDO, India on CST road map in India to reduce dependency on fossil fuels. On 15th October, the opening keynote session was addressed by Prof. Adarsh Pandey from Sunway University, Malaysia, on Thermal energy storage importance in sustainability. Later, Mr. Hemantnandan Pawar from Gulf organization for research and development Qatar delivered lecture on carbon finance support for the accelerated deployment of renewable energy. In the evening sessions Dr. Raj K. Singh, Principle Scientist, CSIR-IIP, Dehradun on recent clean energy economics in hydrocarbon industries, Dr. Jayakumar, chairman of Arbutus PVT. Limited Pune describes the importance of green and clean energy in sustainability economics and Enrico Catizzone form ENEA, Italy, delivered a lecture on application of noniodized zeolite in the methanol conversion process, respectively. In the conference, the technical session on Energy and Environment was chaired by Dr. Anil Kumar from Delhi Technological University, Dr. S.D. Sharma, Vice President, Avaada group, and Prof. Atul Sharma from Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum Institute of Technology, Jais, Amethi. In the sessions, participants from different parts of the country and international participants from Australia, Italy, Bangladesh, etc., presented their research work. On 16th, the invited talk was addressed by Dr. Yogi Goswami, Director, Clean Energy Research Centre, University of South Florida, USA, and further felicitation of the participants was conducted.  

Outcome: The conference covers the following issues:  

  • Improving the performance of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) and Concentrated solar technologies (CST) technologies.  
  • Energy storage systems and its applications in CST technologies.  
  • Concentrated solar technologies (CST) role in achieving the sustainability goals  
  • Residual Biomass Valorization Towards Synthetic Fuel  
  • Importance of clean and green energy in sustainability economics. Recommendation:  
  • That greater efforts be made to share experiences of the diversity of clean energy systems worldwide.  
  • The scientific research and interdisciplinary work linking culture and nature in theory and practice be strengthene.
