USJMC organised a Guest lecture on the topic “Radio in the digital era”

On 21st September, 2021 Uttaranchal School of Journalism & Mass Communication organised a Guest lecture for USJMC Students on the topic “Radio in the digital era”. The lecture was well delivered by Ms. Devanggana from Red FM, She is an award winning Radio Jockey and Anchor.

The purpose of this event was to familiarise the students about the transitions in the contemporary Structure and career paths of Radio Industry. As a subject Radio Journalism is an integral part of Journalism and Mass Communication curriculum also it is one of the fast growing professions all over the world. Hence, this lecture definitely benefited our students in increasing their knowledge about Radio Industry. The event co-ordinator was Ms. Anjulika Ghoshal, Assistant Professor, USJMC. 

The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries. The guest was felicitated by Dr. Jitendra Sinha, Director, USJMC. A short film made by Students of USJMC titled “Gaura Devi” was screened for the guest and the audience.

RJ Devangana conducted an enlightening session on Radio in Digital Age. She encouraged the students to enter the Radio Industry by introducing them with various profiles of the field. She also give the advice and tips for not just being an RJ but also evolve as an overall Media Professional. The students loved her session and clicked photographs with her. She also made the students practice voice modulation and breathing exercises at the end of the session.

The session ended with Question Answer session which the speaker dealt with all patience also Media club co-coordinator, USJMC Ms. Anjullika Ghoshal gave away the vote of thanks. Ms. Smriti Uniyal, Asstt. Professor, USJMC, Mr. Pawan Dabral, Asstt. Professor, USJMC, and Ms. Roohi Quadri, Asstt. Professor, USJMC were also present during the lecture.
