With an intend to bolster the growth of the Students and to familiarise them with the importance of reading, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised Student Development Programme session on the theme of “Reading is must for Management Students” on 29 August 2022. This program was an endeavour to deeply enrich the knowledge of all participants and provided them with opportunities to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Dr.Anupama Raina, Director- Corporate Relations & faculty in the area of HR and Organizational Behaviour- IBS Gurgaon was present as the Keynote Speaker on the occasion, while the Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean, UIM was the other distinguished guest.
At the outset, Professor Suri addressed thegathering and welcomed the keynote speaker of the day. He stated that Reading is important not only for Management Students but for each and every student. He also emphasized the need of inculcating reading habits in our day to day life. He has shared his personal experience with the students that how the habit of reading has helped him in building his career. Later, he expressed his gratitude towards the institution and opined that this SDP will enable to refresh and rekindle the essential communication skills and encouraged students to apply these skills to enhance their knowledge.
The Speaker, Dr.Anupama Raina initiated the session by dividing it into three parts as Reading part, Communication Skills and how this will help the students in their career growth and placement.She emphasized on stage fear that students faced due to lack of confidence and how they can overcome by reading and enhancing their knowledge.She discussed about the increasing competition and war for talent going on in the corporate sector and directed the student how they can survive the competition.
At last vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, HoD, UIMto all the dignitaries and participants. Around 110students have attended the SDP with full zeal and enthusiasm.The entire session was detailed and anchored by Mr. Shrish Singh, Assistant Professor, UIM.
