Students from Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences Participate in “Ma Dhara Naman” at UCOST, Dehradun

Students from the Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences enthusiastically participated in the “Ma Dhara Naman” programme organized by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun, on October 26, 2025. The event was dedicated to promoting environmental protection and conservation of the Earth, aiming to create greater awareness among the younger generation. 


The educational and awareness tour was coordinated under the guidance of the DirectorUCHS, who provided the students with this valuable opportunity to be a part of a state-level environmental initiative 

  

Ten students from UCHS visited the Science Centre, where they explored various scientific exhibits designed to inspire curiosity and understanding of environmental issues. As a part of the event, a one-day workshop on water reserve protection, cleanliness, storage, and hygiene was also conducted. During the workshop, students learned about the existing water reserves in Uttarakhand and discussed ways to contribute to their maintenance and preservation. The session emphasized the importance of community involvement and responsible practices in safeguarding water resources for future generations. Students also gained practical skills in water conservation techniques, hygiene practices, and sustainable resource management, enhancing their ability to apply these concepts in real-life situations. During the event, five students- Anjali Kumari, Shreedhar Kumar, Deepesh Kumar from BPT 3rd Semester, Sharon Singh BOTT 3rd Semester and Lee Anne Namtago Gaoses from BOPTOM 3rd Semester, were felicitated for their participation and achievements in the National Student Environment Competition (NSEC) held in July, 2025. 


The experience proved to be highly enriching for the students, offering practical insights and skills in environmental stewardship and motivating them to actively contribute to protecting natural resources. The visit to UCOST served as an inspiring blend of education, awareness, skill development, and action, fostering a strong commitment among students toward building a greener and more sustainable future.
