Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, launched a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Simulation in Management Education – Towards AI & Future Management Skills” in collaboration with CESIM. The event marked the beginning of a week-long academic engagement from 21 July to 28 July 2025, focused on innovative teaching methodologies using AI and simulation.
The ceremony commenced with the Kulgeet, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. The gathering was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM; Prof (Dr) Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM; and the lead trainer for the FDP, Mr Rohan Jugran from CESIM.
Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri addressed the faculty with words that inspired and energised the participants, highlighting the significance of embracing futuristic tools in management education. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, in his address, congratulated UIM on initiating such a forward-looking FDP and emphasised the role of simulation and AI in shaping the next generation of management professionals.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof (Dr) Tilottama Singh, who expressed gratitude to the higher management, the Director of UIM, CESIM, the organising team, and the participating faculty members for their support and enthusiasm in making the event possible.
Throughout the week, the participants engaged in immersive, simulation-based sessions that enhanced their understanding of strategic decision-making, cross-functional thinking, and real-time problem-solving in a risk-free virtual environment. The interactive format empowered faculty to explore how experiential learning can drive deeper engagement and improve learning outcomes in the classroom.
The seven-day FDP concluded with great enthusiasm and a shared sense of achievement, equipping educators with new-age skills and reaffirming UIM’s commitment to pedagogical innovation.
