The Shiksha Daan Drive, organized by the Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, in collaboration with Jai-Youth Wing and Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti, aimed to promote quality education, social awareness, and value-based learning among school students. Conducted in two phases on 15 February and 22 February 2025, the initiative sought to enhance academic skills, instill ethical values, and encourage critical thinking, while also providing UIM students with leadership and community engagement opportunities. The drive was led under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, and Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, with support from Shri Vinayak Sharma Swami, President, Jai Youth Wing, and Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti. Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Head of the Globe Club, along with Dr Preeti Tyagi, Dr Navnit Kumar Shukla, Ms Sakshi Chamoli, Dr Deepshi Garg, and Ms Sanjana Kaithwal, coordinated the event efficiently.
The first phase, held on 15 February at Bhartiya Akhil Mahila Ashram, Laxman Chowk, was led by Shagun Tyagi and Riya Rawat (BBA, II Semester), who introduced fundamental mathematical concepts of Fractions and conducted an engaging session on Gender Equality, encouraging students to think inclusively and challenge stereotypes. The second phase, conducted on 22 February at Arya Samaj School, Laxman Chowk, Dehradun, focused on Moral Values and Good Habits, led by Manika Joshi and Neelam Sharma, and was coordinated by Mohd. Aakil and emphasized character-building and the significance of integrity in daily life.
The initiative positively impacted school students by improving their academic knowledge and ethical understanding, while UIM students enhanced their leadership and communication skills. By fostering a culture of education and social responsibility, the Shiksha Daan Drive reinforced UIM’s commitment to community service and holistic student development, creating a lasting impact on both students and mentors.
