Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM) organised a webinar on "Leading with Integrity: The Cornerstone of Ethical Management and Sustainable Success" on 21 November 2024. The event featured distinguished guest speaker Dr Robert J Thompson, a prominent figure in the hospitality and tourism industry.
The webinar was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, who welcomed Dr Thompson and emphasized the significance of ethical leadership in overcoming challenges and fostering sustainable success. Dr Suri praised Dr Thompson's resilience and his ability to guide institutions through adversity, underscoring the relevance of cultivating a strong. principled thought process in shaping one's career.
Dr Robert J Thompson is a distinguished hospitality and tourism expert with over 30 years of experience in iconic destinations such as Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, and Biloxi. He holds an MBA in Hospitality & Tourism from the University of Guelph and a Ph.D. in Human Capital Development from The University of Southern Mississippi. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Business at William Carey University.
Dr Thompson shared insights into the core principles of integrity-driven leadership, detailing strategies for ethical decision-making and sustainable management practices. The session emphasized how leaders who prioritize integrity not only inspire trust but also pave the way for long-term organizational and personal success. In his session, Dr Thompson discussed how leading with integrity involves embracing honesty, accountability, transparency, and fairness key principles that underpin ethical management.
