The Library at Law College Dehradun (LCD) successfully organized a comprehensive training programme titled “Legal Research through Online Legal Research Database: LexisNexis” on the 27 November 2024. This session was specially curated for the library users of LCD, with Mr Abhijeet Gupta, Manager of Training from LexisNexis, leading the session.
Mr Gupta demonstrated advanced search techniques and tools for effectively accessing e-resources remotely via “Knimbus,” the university's remote access platform. His hands-on training provided valuable insights into utilizing LexisNexis for legal research, helping students navigate and extract relevant information from the platform.
Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of leveraging subscribed e-resources for academic excellence. Dr Ramveer Tanwar, University Librarian further highlighted the extensive resources available through the library and motivated participants to maximize their use of these tools for enhancing their academic pursuits.
Mr Muktendra Rawat, Librarian LCD, coordinated the event, offering participants a detailed briefing on accessing e-resources off-campus through the Knimbus remote access facility. The training was conducted in two interactive sessions and witnessed an overwhelming response with more than 375 students in attendance.
The students expressed their appreciation for the programme, describing it as highly informative and instrumental in improving their academic research skills. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Muktendra Rawat, who extended gratitude to the faculty members, administrative team, and IT staff for their active participation and support, which were pivotal in ensuring the programme's success.
This training initiative reflects University commitment to empowering its students with essential research skills, bridging the gap between technology and education in legal studies.
