On November 27, 2024, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Uttaranchal University held a strategic meeting at the UHDC Board Room, focusing on enhancing the AYUSH institution's assessment and rating process by the Quality Council of India (QCI) under NCISM guidelines. The meeting, chaired by Er. Rajesh Deorari, Director of IQAC, was attended by Er. Rishi Nautiyal, Assistant Manager, IQAC; Er. Sudhir Jugran, Assistant Manager, IQAC; Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director of UHDC; Dr. Ravi Joshi, Principal of UMCAR; along with faculty members and staff from UMCAR.
The meeting agenda included an overview of the QCI assessment framework and the importance of aligning Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research (UMCAR) with NCISM standards to improve academic standing and institutional reputation. Er. Rajesh Deorari emphasized the need for systematic document preparation, while also discussing the formation of a dedicated QCI coordinator team for managing the 11 QCI criteria.
Dr. Amit Bhatt encouraged active involvement from UMCAR’s faculty and staff in this process, highlighting the importance of integrating research and operational practices to boost institutional performance. Er. Rishi Nautiyal and Er. Sudhir Jugran outlined strategies for streamlining the documentation process to ensure efficiency.
A resolution was passed to create a dedicated team to implement these criteria, ensuring that UMCAR meets QCI (NCISM) guidelines for a successful assessment outcome in near future.
