The Departmental Women Cell, School of Agriculture (SOA) organized a seminar titled "Gender Equality and Work-Life Balance: Addressing Challenges for Both" on 29 November 2024, The Seminar aimed to emphasize the need of maintaining a balance between work and personal life while supporting gender equality in all aspects of society. Faculty Members, Staff Members and students actively participated in seminar. The program began with an opening remark by Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Director, SOA, who set a context for the societal concerns, particularly the negative impacts of substance addiction such as alcohol and drugs. Mr Jayanti Ballabh, Assistant Professor & Co-ordinator of Examination, SOA then delivered the keynote presentation, emphasizing the importance of gender equality and finding opportunity to bridge the gap. He also underlined a healthy work-life balance, both for professionals and students. He elaborated the problems that women confront in the office, as well as the importance of health, job satisfaction, and personal relationships in achieving life balance. Dr Rajender Prasad, Head of the Department, SOA, continued the program by addressing social misconception about the value of domestic responsibilities versus earning roles. Using thought-provoking examples, he explained societal norms of importance of gender equality and urge for a broad mind set in working place.
At the end, Dr Neha Saini, Departmental, Co-ordinator of women cell proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors for the event's success. She acknowledged the contribution of officials and Women Cell members, including Ms Mansi Nautiyal, Dr Rachna Juyal, and Ms Diksha Nautiyal, for their dedication and teamwork. Dr Saini highlighted their pivotal role in organizing and executing the event seamlessly, ensuring its impactful and memorable conclusion.
