School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University celebrated World Forensic Science Day on 20 September, 2024.The aim of the event was to create awareness about the importance of forensic science in criminal investigation and judicial system. The celebration started with the lamp lighting ceremony in the graceful presence of Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Director, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Dr Rajendra Prasad, HoD, Mr Saurabh Rajvanshi. All the dignitaries visited the Crime Scene models Supervised by Ms Charu Saklani and Mr Nitin Pandey. Then all evaluated the posters supervised by Mrs Surbhi Bhardwaj and also witnessed the demonstrations of the various forensic techniques supervised by Ms Sunidhi Agarwal. The dignitaries encouraged students with their motivating words and valuable feedback. The celebration featured Crime Scene Investigation done by Sonakshi, Prince, Ayush, different technique demonstration done by Manvendra, Angelina, Pooja and Mansi, Poster Presentation done by Anushka, Umesh and at last Crime Scene Modulation done by Areeba and Arshaya along with series of educational and interactive activities, which not only engaged the attendees but also enhanced their understanding of forensic science and its applications. The Vice- Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh and his team members for wonderful organisation of the event. Prof Singh in his concluding remarks appreciated the efforts of all students and winners were awarded with prizes & certificates.
