Student Induction Program at Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, was inaugurated with the theme ‘Prarambh Hai Aarambh’, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the first-year students.
On 12 August 2024, a guest lecture was held at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, delivered by Dr Prapti Paul, Academic Coordinator at IBS Gurgaon. With over 12 years of experience in both academia and industry and having received Best Paper Awards at two international conferences, Dr Paul provided the audience with a wealth of knowledge and valuable insights.
Her lecture covered several critical topics, beginning with the ethics of sustainable business practices. Dr Paul explained how students can actively contribute to a sustainable future and highlighted the growing trend of businesses adopting environmentally responsible practices. She also outlined the top 10 skills currently in high demand across industries, underscoring the importance of collaborative leadership and the role of Responsible Management Education. Dr Paul further discussed essential industry skills, such as proficiency in Power BI, R, Tableau, and Python. She emphasized that companies should be mindful of the environmental impact of their products, citing Patagonia as a leading example of a company that prioritizes sustainability in its production decisions.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Neeti Mishra, Assistant Professor, UIM. Her closing remarks encapsulated the essence of the day’s events and extended heartfelt thanks to Dr Paul for her enlightening session.
