Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, organized a seminar on " Adjusting to College Life: Balancing Change and Mental Well-being " on August 21, 2024, for the fresher students by Dr. Sona Kaushal Gupta, MBBS Psychologist. The seminar aims to enhance understanding of mental health issues and emphasize the importance of sustaining mental well-being. It also provides students with practical strategies for navigating the transition to college. Additionally, it promotes awareness of substance abuse and encourages students to "Say No to Drugs" for a healthier life.
The event began with the felicitation of guests by Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS. She emphasized the importance of academic dedication, personal growth, and maintaining a balanced approach to studies and well-being.
Dr. Sona Kaushal Gupta provided an in-depth explanation of stress management, discussing various techniques to help students effectively cope with the pressures and challenges they may face, especially during the transition to college. She emphasized the importance of recognizing stress triggers, maintaining a balanced lifestyle, and seeking support when needed. She also highlighted the significance of staying away from harmful substances, encouraging students to Say No to Drugs to protect their mental and physical health, fostering a positive and productive college environment.
