The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management recently organized a comprehensive workshop on "Anti-Ragging: Policies and Prevention" at their campus on 22 August 2024. The workshop aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of eradicating ragging from educational institutions and to educate them on the legal and ethical consequences of such actions.
The event saw participation from both students and faculty members, with key sessions led by experienced professionals in law enforcement, psychology, and education. The speaker Dr Radheshyam Jha, HoD, Law College discussed various aspects of ragging, including its psychological impact on victims, the legal framework surrounding anti-ragging policies, and the preventive measures that institutions can adopt to create a safe and inclusive environment.
The workshop included interactive sessions where students could ask questions and share their thoughts on the issue. Case studies were presented to highlight the severe consequences of ragging incidents, both for the perpetrators and the victims.
