Women Cell of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, organized a “Face Painting Competition” on 7 March 2024 on International Women’s Day at UIM foyer which was attended by participants from different departments.
The Face Painting Competition was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean UIM & Dean Academics, Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, Dr Babita Rawat, Associate Professor, UIM and Ms. Neeti Mishra, Assistant Professor, UIM. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the announcer and the lamp-lightening was done.
The event started with the inspiring address of Dr Suri and he motivated the students and the audience emphasizing the significance of women's empowerment in today’s world. He encouraged everyone to stand and respect each other irrespective of gender. He also encouraged everyone to raise their voices against any kind of injustice.
The Face Painting Competition saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members where different teams showcased their creativity and skill on the canvas of their faces. The artworks of different teams reflected the resilience, strength, and beauty of the women. The panel of judges comprised of Dr Babita Rawat, Associate Professor, Ms Neeti Mishra, Assistant Professor, and Dr Rekha Verma, Associate Professor, UIM. The criteria included creativity, originality, and the ability to convey a strong message through the face paintings. The award ceremony was a moment of pride and joy for the winners, who received certificates for their outstanding contributions. The winners of the event were as follows:
