The School of Agriculture (SOA) organized the Alumni Meet-2023 on November 18, 2023, at the SOA building. The event started with a welcome note delivered by Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh. In his opening remarks, he encouraged SOA alumni to maintain a curiosity for knowledge, advance critical thinking, and uphold a passion for lifelong learning. Prof Singh further motivated the SOA alumni to explore agricultural startups and provided insights into various business ideas eligible for government and non-government schemes. Dr Rajendra Prasad, HoD, addressed the SOA alumni and highlighted the department's achievements in infrastructure enhancement, technological advancements, and academic development during the preceding academic session. Dr Prasad extended his best wishes to the alumni for their future endeavours and encouraged them to embrace contemporary skills such as information technologies, artificial intelligence, and indoor farming in the field of Agriculture.
The program featured cultural performances by the current students of SOA, including dance, singing, poetry recitation, and speeches. These performances showcased the vibrant talents within the SOA community. The alumni were also invited to share their experiences at Uttaranchal University, reflecting on the impact of well-experienced faculty members who had guided them to make the valuable decisions in their professional lives.
The alumni proudly acknowledged the valuable education they received at SOA, emphasizing the importance of developing proper learning habits and active participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. They conveyed their gratitude for the guidance received from faculty members.
The event was proficiently coordinated by Mr Sunil Prakash, the departmental coordinator of the Alumni Association, and Dr Rachna Juyal, the Coordinator, Departmental Cultural Committee. At the end, a vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Jayanti Ballabh, expressing gratitude to all participants, coordinators, and faculty members for their contributions to the success of the Alumni Meet-2023. The faculty members of SOA collectively wished the alumni continued success in their future endeavours.
