In a bid to promote physical fitness and foster a spirit of healthy competition among its students, Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM) recently organized Intra-Departmental Indoor Sports Competition 2023 under Challengers- The sports club of USHHM. The event, held at the campus, featured an array of mind- and body-engaging games, including Chess, Carrom, and Table Tennis.
The competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across various programmes of USHHM, aimed to provide a platform for both seasoned athletes and newcomers to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. It also emphasized the importance of mental agility, strategic thinking, and physical coordination, aligning with USHHM's commitment to holistic development.
The Chess tournament witnessed intense battles of wits as students moved their knights, bishops, and rooks with precision. Carrom boards echoed with the unmistakable "thud" of strikes as participants showcased their exceptional flicking techniques. Meanwhile, the Table Tennis matches featured lightning-fast rallies that left spectators in awe of the players' reflexes and agility.
Mr Manish Badoni, Principal, USHHM, expressed her satisfaction with the event's success. He stated, "We are thrilled to see our students embrace these indoor sports with such enthusiasm. The competition not only helps them stay physically active but also sharpens their mental health."
