Fueling Futures: USCS celebrates International Programmers' Day 2023

To celebrate International Programmers’ Day on 13 September 2023 Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS) hosted two parallel competitions for the students of BCA, MCA, and BSc (IT).  The Codex Club "CODE: Code Optimization & Development Efficiency”, while the Web Development Club "Rapid Web Development: Where Innovation Meets Imaginations”. The objective was to encourage and inspire aspiring programmers and web developers to pursue their interests and careers in these fields. 


Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Dean USCS addressed that competition is not merely a contest of skills and abilities; it's a catalyst for growth and self-discovery. It's the arena where you push your limits, learn from your experiences, and emerge stronger, wiser, and stronger.  


Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HOD USCS encouraged students that it is an opportunity to showcase their talents, gain recognition, and, most importantly, challenge themselves to reach new heights 


The judges of the events were Mr Abhishek Kumar Pathak, Head, Academic and Non-Academic Events, Ms Manisha Saini, Co-Head, Academic and Non-Academic Events and Ms Ruby Faizan. 


1. The Web Development Club event coordinated by MrAshish Bhatt, Head, Website Development Club, and Ms. Divya Rawat Co-Head.


Team- 20 (Each Team has 3 participants) 

  •  First: Deepak Seamalty, BCA V A) 

  • Second: Akib Mirza (BscIT V), Sakshi Upreti (Bsc IT V), Raghav Garg (BscIT V) 

  • Third:  Arshad Ali (BCA III C), Yashank Gupta (BCA III C), Bipul Pathak (BCA III C) 


2. CODEX club event coordinated by Mr. Parminder Singh Head Codex club and Ms. Swati Singh Co-Head 


A total of 76 participants enthusiastically submitted their applications. After a comprehensive screening process, 15 exceptional students were selected to progress to the ultimate stage, 

  • First– Mr Sunny Gupta (BCA-V) 

  • Second- Mr Akshat Bisht (BCA-I) 

  • Third- Mr Dipanshu Joshi (BCA-V) 


At the end of the event, Mr Abhishek Kumar Pathak proposed a vote of thanks. The event was a great success with the support of Ms Manisha Khanduja (Cultural Head) and Mr Harshit Gupta along with volunteer students and technical staff.
