The School of Agriculture (SOA) organized an event titled "Mann Ki Baat" on April 25, 2023, with the aim to elicit the thoughts and opinions of students on various aspects pertaining to their academic and extracurricular experiences. The session encouraged the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students of Agriculture to actively participate and share their viewpoints on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including sports, field activities, departmental club engagements, and any other matters relevant to the university campus.
The event witnessed the valuable participation of students who expressed their gratitude to the organizers for providing them such a platform to voice their opinions. Several valuable suggestions were put forth by the student participants, including:
1. Requested for an increase in field visits during the upcoming academic session.
2. Proposing educational tours outside the city for undergraduate students.
3. Considering the large syllabus of courses, Crop Improvement-II (AGP-321) offered in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, Semester-6th, requested for increasing the credit hours form 2(1+1) credit to 3(2+1).
4. Suggesting for the provision of separate bus facilities for UG students engaged in Practical Crop Production and PG students that are engaged in Master’s Thesis Research Work carried out at Kotra Santor agricultural farms of the university.
The Dean of SOA and faculty members attentively considered the students' suggestions and convinced them for transforming into actionable initiatives. The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Rajendra Prasad, HoD, SOA.
