Psychological Counselling Cell, SLA, Uttaranchal University organized a mental health awareness visit, ‘EK SAMVAAD’, to interact with the residents of Kolhupani Village. The purpose of this visit was to raise awareness about mental health issues and provide support to those who may be struggling with mental health. During the Visit, faculty and student members of Psychological Counselling Cell discussed common mental health disorders, their symptoms, and treatment options.
Students conducted various group discussions where participants were encouraged to share their personal experiences with mental health and how it has affected their lives. They also discussed ways to cope with mental health issues and how to support loved ones who may be struggling.
Mr. Komil Kumar, Chairperson, Psychological Counselling Cell, Uttaranchal University and Dr Shreya Chaudhary, Member Secretary, Psychological Counselling Cell, SLA have discussed with individuals who were seeking support or had questions about mental health. It provided them with information about resources in the community, such as mental health clinics and support groups. Overall, the mental health awareness visit was successful. Participants were engaged and receptive, and many shared their personal experiences with mental health. Through this visit, we were able to raise awareness about mental health issues and provide support to those who may be struggling. It is important to continue to work towards reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and providing access to resources for those in need.
