Eco - Cops celebrate Earth Day 2023

 

Earth Day is a reminder of the impact humans have on the planet and the urgent need to take action to protect our environment. Students have a critical role to play in shaping the future of our planet, as they are the next generation of leaders and decision-makers.

Earth Day provides an opportunity for students to learn about the environmental challenges facing the world and the steps they can take to make a positive difference. Earth Day can be used as a platform to raise awareness about environmental issues, and it provides an opportunity to learn, engage, and take action to protect the environment and create a sustainable future for generations to come. “Eco- cops- The Home of Eco Warriors”, the environmental club of Uttaranchal University and members of UNAI, Uttaranchal University celebrated Earth Day 2023 on 22 April 2023 by organising an awareness session on the theme “Invest in our planet”.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp followed by an address by the President eco- the club Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh who stressed the need to protect the Earth for our well-being. Students shared their points of view about the topic. They also suggested creating awareness campaigns in the nearby villages about keeping a healthy Earth. Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola, Vice-President eco- the club thanked everyone for participating.
