Uttaranchal
University organized an International Conference on Recent Trends, Challenges
and Opportunities in Libraries on 24th-25th March, 2023. The conference was
organized by School of Liberal Arts and The Knowledge Resource Centre under The
Ministry of Culture, Government of India’s Initiative Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
in association with the Association of Indian Law Libraries which was sponsored
by Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata and Indian Council of Social
Science Research New Delhi.
The
conference became a host to delegates from across the nation and abroad. With
the aim of expanding the horizons of the knowledge resource centres, 74 papers
were presented by the participants from 11 states and 3 countries. Experts from
IITs, NLUs, Indian Law Library, and library professionals from renowned
universities chaired the session and highlighted various opportunities related
to the scope of library science and research.
The conference ultimately aimed to identify the challenges and opportunities in the field of library sciences such that conscious efforts can be taken to resolve them. It will lead to the enhancement of the efficiency delivered by the professionals in this domain. The entire event was managed by Dr. Shravan Kumar and Dr. Ramveer Tanwar, the conveners of the conference.
