ASITATVA KI LADAI: Stop abuse against women a street play performed by USJMC Students

NAARI NAAD a women cell under Uttaranchal School of Journalism and Mass Communication organised a social awareness program through the street play titled “ASITATVA KI LADAI” in an open area of Uttaranchal University on 3rd March, 2023.

USJMC Women Cell Coordinator Assistant Professor USJMC Ms. Roohi Quadri informed the audience that the purpose for this initiative was not only to celebrate International Women’s Day but also spreading awareness among students to promote gender equality, preventing discrimination and sexual harassment against women, and breaking societal stereotypes set up by society for Indian women. The theme of the play was 'Stop Abuse Against Women'. Participants were Sarthak Walia, Aryan Walia, Ashika Jaiswal, Suhani, Shubham ,Bhoomi, Pooja, Tanmay, Paras, Chandan, Ritika Rawat, Shalini ,Diksha Choudhary. The script was written by Ms. Roohi Quadri and USJMC Students Mansi Negi and Pranav Kumar and the play directed by Assistant Professor Mr. Kailash Kandwal.

The audience crowd was totally feeling connected with the performers and encouraging the performers with clappings. Director, USJMC Dr. Vikash Singh, Assitnt Professor Ms. Ankita Singh also present there. The event was co-ordinated by Assistant Professor Ms. Roohi Quadri.
