The School of Liberal Arts conducted a seminar on Social Entrepreneurship that aimed to develop a culture of Social Entrepreneurship in order to create more employment and innovations in society. In today’s competitive world, it has become crucial to be self-independent and self-reliant. A higher level of awareness is needed to improve innovation and employment skills, social skills, self motivation and to make better decisions in regard to Entrepreneurship.
The students understood the need of Social Entrepreneurship in today’s era in order to be Job providers rather than Job-seekers and also to become effective leaders in the organization.
The keynote speakers for the seminar were:
- Mr Vijay Singh, Dynamic leader with National Level presence and Contributions
- Mr Ashwani Kumar, Entrepreneur and motivational speaker.
The speaker Mr Vijay Singh highlightedthe concept of Social entrepreneurship which is all about recognizing the social problems and achieving a social change by employing entrepreneurial principles, processes and operations. It is all about making a research to completely define a particular social problem and then organizing, creating and managing a social venture to attain the desired change. The change may or may not include a thorough elimination of a social problem. Afterwards, Mr Ashwani Kumar discussed that appropriating entrepreneurship for the term social entrepreneurship requires wrestling with what we actually mean by entrepreneurship. The field of social entrepreneurship is rapidly growing and attracting the attention of numerous volunteers. The reason he mentioned the increasing popularity of this product is that individuals get to do what they have been thinking for a long.
On a concluding note, Ms Shikha Bharti proposed a vote of thanks to both the guest speakers and the participants for making it a success. Mr Ashutosh Sharma, Co-ordinator – Kautilya Club has organized the seminar.
