E-Cell of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organized a workshop on “IDEATHON-Creating and Building Innovative Ideas for Entrepreneurship” on 31 August 2022 in the Seminar Hall of UIM in offline mode. This workshop aimed at providing an appropriate knowledge and platform for students to encourage them about the entrepreneurial idea generation.
Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean-Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University was the eminent speaker for the said workshop. Ms. Neha Rastogi head E- Cell hosted the workshop for all Management students and welcomed the eminent speaker.
Prof (Dr)Rajeev RanjanHoD, UIM, Uttaranchal University,welcomed the eminent speaker to have discussion over the Creating and Building Innovative Ideas for Entrepreneurship.
Prof (Dr)Pradeep Suri initiated the session with the introduction of relevance of money in one’s life. To make students understand the concept of entrepreneurship; he categorized that some people who have an advantage of pre-existed strong financial background are less worried to earn money, mostly people seek a good job for survival and much satisfied with their average earnings. There are few who thinks extraordinarily and take risk to create an earning avenue for themselves as well for others.He highlighted the importance of communication skills,investment options and great efforts are required to create a viable entrepreneurial opportunity in today’s scenario of advanced market place.To encourage and motivate students towards entrepreneurial establishments,Prof (Dr) Surireferred to various examples of Alumnus of UIM who are presently running their successful business. He also spoke about the hardships faced by them during the initial entrepreneurial process.To boost the morale of the studentsthe quotes like “Dream Big Work Hard” and “Winners don't do different things, they do things differently” were well articulated by Prof (Dr) Suri.Further, he laid an emphasis on identification of untapped markets and actual need of the consumers to start any sort of business.Prof (Dr) Suri addressed the existing entrepreneurial models like Tiffin service, various products on EMI, Swiggy, Zomato etc.He also specifically talked about the policies and initiatives taken by Indian government to support the entrepreneurial establishments in the country and Uttarakhand state. Further, Prof (Dr) Suri highlighted the role of state boards, skill development programs that facilitates the new business ideas. During the session he asked students to share their entrepreneurial ideas; whereby two best worthwhile ideas came up i.e. Doorstep Parlour Service and Plants&Gardening services at door step. He appreciated the business ideas of the students and encouraged them to come up with more ideas so, that in the next session idea screening can be done.At the end of the session Prof (Dr) Suri briefly discussed the process of business proposal and said that further detailed discussion on the same will be undertaken in the next session.
