Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. These activities supplement and enrich classroom learning and encourage new interests amongst students. It also makes them more aware of community resources and helps them relate their educational experience to the outside world in view of this an Industrial Visit was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University on 20 April 2022 for the students of B. Tech II, III and IV year students to Mahindra and Mahindra, Haridwar. The visit was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. S. D. Pandey, Dean, UIT and Mr. Iqbal Singh Sawhney, Sr. Manager, Corporate Resource Center and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HoD, ME.
Mr. Netrapal, Manager HR, Mahindra, and Mahindra, Haridwar welcomed the students and briefed them about the company, and shared the roadmap of the plant visit. The students were divided into two groups for a detailed tour of the plant, He said Mahindra's Haridwar plant, currently manufactures the Scorpio and the Bolero SUVs, along with the company's small commercial vehicle, Mahindra Alfa.
He also told me sustainability has always been key at Mahindra and has been committed to this cause since its inception. To meet these targets, the brand has successfully incorporated a host of sustainable practices. At the end of the visit, queries from the students were invited. Many students raised their queries and he responded to them aptly and with proper details, students were elated by this practical exposure.

The visit proved to be a great learning experience for students. Students expressed their gratitude towards Prof. S. D. Pandey, Dean, UIT, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HoD, ME and faculty Coordinators for organising such opportunities beyond academics to enhance their knowledge and technical skills.
