On the occasion of NSS Foundation Day, 24 September 2025, the NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University in collaboration with the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) organized a Blood Donation Camp at the Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Centre. The camp was inaugurated by the President of the University, Shri Jitender Joshi, Ms. Ankita Joshi (Vice President), Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Joshi (Executive Director- Student Affairs & IT services), Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro-Vice Chancellor) and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Director- SALS).
The camp was organized in association with Subharti Hospital, City Blood Center, and Doon Hospital, Dehradun. A large number of students, NSS volunteers, and faculty members participated enthusiastically, donating blood for the noble cause of saving lives.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Jitender Joshi stated, “Blood donation is the noblest gift as it directly saves lives.” Prof. Dharam Buddhi appreciated this initiative and emphasized that such programs in still a sense of service and responsibility among students.
The event was graced by Prof. Ajay Singh (Director-SALS), Dr. V.K. Srivastava (Programme Coordinator, NSS), Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Programme Coordinator, NSS), along with all NSS coordinators from different colleges and a large number of NSS volunteers. Their active participation ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the camp. By the end of the day, a total of 500 units of blood were collected, reflecting the spirit of service and community responsibility among the youth. The event was not only a celebration of NSS Foundation Day (24 September 2025) but also a remarkable demonstration of compassion, teamwork, and social commitment.
