A highly engaging guest lecture on the topic “Practical Use of AI in the Analysis of Academic Papers and Materials” was organized by Office of International Affairs, Uttaranchal University under the aegis of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University on 7 October 2024. The session, aimed at enhancing the students' understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its application in academic research, was delivered by Ms Mihaela Gjorcheva, Management Board Member, International Slavic University and Mr Ivan from International Slavic University, Macedonia, an expert in AI and machine learning.
During the session, the speaker provided valuable insights into how AI technologies are transforming the academic landscape. The key discussions included the use of AI tools to automate literature reviews, analyse large volumes of research papers, identify trends, and even predict future research directions. The students were introduced to various AI-powered tools like natural language processing (NLP) algorithms, machine learning models, and citation analysis platforms that are currently revolutionizing the academic and research sectors.
The session was followed by a lively Q&A session, where students interacted with the guest speaker, delving deeper into the practical applications of AI in the field of education. The event was an eye-opener for many students, showcasing the potential of AI beyond traditional uses, and encouraging them to explore innovative approaches in their academic pursuits.
The lecture was organized under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean Student Welfare and Director, School of Labral Art with the support of Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director,Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, aiming to provide students with a broader perspective on AI and its future in academia.
Overall, the session was a great success and received an overwhelming response from the attendees, enriching their knowledge on the cutting-edge advancements in AI and its application in academic research.
