The seminar commenced with a keynote address by Prof. (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Dean USCS, She welcomed guest speaker and emphasized the role of social service in developing students' character, fostering values of compassion, and building a strong sense of civic duty.
Further Mr. Vinayak S. Swami shared insights into how social service can enhance students' learning experiences. The speaker discussed various real-world examples of how students have deepened their understanding of academic concepts through practical application in community projects.
The respected guest speaker also explained what work has been done by their NGO Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti & Youth wing JAI in past 10 years and welcomed students to volunteer at their NGO as well as informed them about internships provided by their NGO. The following are areas in which social work activities are conducted by NGO: Plantation drives, Shikshadaan, Shramdaan, Social internships, Srijan, awareness camps, Women hygiene camps, Marathons.
The seminar on "Holistic Development of Students through Social Service" succeeded in fostering a rich exchange of ideas and experiences. It reiterated the invaluable role of social service in shaping students into compassionate, responsible, and well-rounded individuals. The event left participants inspired to integrate service-learning opportunities into educational programs and curricula, thereby contributing to the holistic development of future generations.
