Cultural Exhibition to celebrate Yuva Utsav-India@2047

Uttaranchal University organized a Cultural Exhibition as a part of their celebration of Yuva Utsav-India@2047. The event was organized by Mosaic, the cultural club of the School of Liberal Arts, with the aim of showcasing the local history and cultural tradition. The event was graced by Dr. K Elango, National Secretary, ELTAI as the chief guest and Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar, Dean, School of Liberal Arts. There were five Heritage Stalls, each showcasing different traditions and cultural traditions. The first stall portrayed Garhwali traditions, including traditional food, mandva roti, jhangora kheer, fanu, aalo thechwani, rotana, baal mithai, and the importance of the traditional nath jewellery. Religious places like Kedarnath, Nandadevi, Surkandadevi, Dharidevi, and festivals like phuldehi were highlighted along with traditional sari draping and sapa-paranda. The second stall showcased Jaunsari traditions and their main source of economy i.e agriculture. People are devoted to their God, Mahasu Maharaj, who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and is worshipped in the temple of Hanol. The cultural attire includes Ghangra, Dhatu n Jhaga, and the famous food, Rajma. The third stall portrayed Punjabi traditions and culture, including traditional costumes such as patiala suit salwar, jutti, parandi, and kurta pajama, pagdi, kada for boys. Traditional jewellery includes gota, tika, katae, and chudi. Famous food items like sarso da saar, makke di roti, lassi, and punjabi boliyan were showcased along with religious places like Amritsar Golden Temple. The fourth stall portrayed Nepali traditions, including their traditional dress called 'Kurta Suruwal' for women and 'Daura Suruwal' for men. Food items such as dhido, potato curry, and thukpa were highlighted, along with religious places like Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Badimalika Temple. The fifth stall showcased Kumaunni traditions and highlighted essentials like Kul devta, aipan, harela festival, buransh juice, phichoda, nath, and galloband. The exhibition aimed to promote and celebrate the diverse traditions and cultural roots of India. The event was a great success and helped to promote cultural awareness and appreciation among the students.
