On 3rd September, 2022 Uttaranchal School of Journalism and Mass Communication (USJMC) inaugurated its theatre club “Abhivyakti” in association with Dhad Natya Mandal. It is a theatre branch of Dhad, a Sanskritic and Literary organization that has been active in Uttarakhand for over twenty years. Dhad Natya Mandalhas been in action since last twelve years and has commenced more than fifty dramas and ten small part children’s drama till now. The event was a huge success under the presence of honorable Chancellor Uttaranchal University, Shri Jitendra Joshi Ji, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, Director USJMC, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Dean Uttaranchal School of Hospitality Management, Mr. Manish Baduni and all of the USJMC faculty. The event was also made possible with the efforts of Dhad Natya Mandal, who performed a drama “Refund” at USJMC’s seminar hall.
The event began with the lighting of a lamp by dignitaries and University Kulgeet and was followed by Dhad Natya Mandal’s act. The tittle of the drama was “Refund” which was a humorous act depicting a terrified principal of Deendayal Vishva Vidyalay who is trying to convince eighteen years old alumni blackmailing them to refund his fees he had deposited while studying at the school or he would file an RTI against the school. It was a great performance that elicited applauses and made everyone in the room laugh.
