College Dehradun, faculty of Uttaranchal University organizes Sanitary Napkin
Donation Drive on 20 August 2022, as a part of ISR activities of the University
under the aegis of Rotaract Club of LCD. The donation drive was done for the
welfare of females of seven villages of Chakrata block namely Buraswa, Rawna,
Maharwana, Shirpa, Tangroli, Patti and Bangoti. The Chief guest of the occasion was Shrimati
Anuradha Joshi Vice Chairman of Shrimati Sushila Devi Education Trust, while
the guest of honor was Mrs. Sushila Rawat, Gram Pradhan of Buraswa village in
the presence of Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor Uttaranchal
University and Prof. Poonam Rawat, Head Law College Dehradun.
The
event commenced with the felicitation of the guests and lighting of the
auspicious lamp. Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna in his address welcomed the guests and explained
his strategical measures to carry on various outreach activities in the
villages of Chakrata block and bring about an enhancement in the health and
hygiene by meeting certain specific needs of the community. Maintaining good
hygiene is an important part of staying healthy and providing access to
personal care products can greatly impact anyone’s well-being and go a long way
to aid the community stay healthy. Acting on these powerful feelings of
responsibility Law College Dehradun in unison with UNICHARM donated Sanitary
Napkins for a period of six months that could benefit around 500 beneficiaries.
The event was
successfully coordinated by Mr. Amit the Chairperson of Rotaract club and his
team. Hundreds of students and faculty members of the college stood witness for
the successful event.
