Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, organized a One Week Faculty Development Program on “Opportunities Challenges in Design and Development of Electric Vehicles”, in association with SLOG Solutions Pvt. Ltd. from 17th May 2022 to 23rd May 2022.

The FDP was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by University Kulgeet. The dignitaries were welcomed by the convener, Prof. (Dr.) S. D. Pandey, Dean-UIT and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department. In his address, Prof. (Dr.) S. D. Pandey emphasized the need for such programs for the overall growth of faculty members and expressed his conviction that such programs add value to their stature.


He further stated that online FDPs play a key role in learning and knowledge transfer. He personally congratulated the department of Mechanical Engineering for taking the lead and conducting the online FDP. He conveyed his sincere thanks to all dignitaries and keynote speakers for coming forward to share their knowledge on this platform. Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor of the university also addressed the gathering and, in his address, he stated that in the coming days Electric Vehicles (EV) will play a vital role at present researchers are also working on the efficiency and feasibility of EVs, and in the present-day environment Microgrid is a buzzword which can also incorporate Renewable Energy resources.

The guest speaker of the faculty development programme was Mr. Pankaj Gupta, President, Industries Association of Uttarakhand, Mr. Anchal Koshta, Senior R &D Engineer at ABCROB Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Senior Design Engineer, PAVNA Industries, Pune, and Mr. Vikas Kumar, Research Engineer at FLUX Motors Pvt. Ltd. The Guest Speaker, Mr. Pankaj Gupta, talked about the insights of the EVs in India and their future. He also said electric vehicle (EV) technologies are the main thrust area of research all over the world. All the sessions were very interactive.


The FDP was coordinated by Mr. Vivek John, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal University and Mr. Saurabh Aggarwal, Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal University.  All the members of the faculty have participated in the FDP.The certificates were given to all participants who cleared the exam with 80% of marks. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal University, to all the dignitaries and the participants for making it a success.
