School of Agriculture (SOA) celebrated World Food Day 2024 on ‘Food Safety and Nutrition Education: Right to Food for a better life and a better future’ on 16 October 2024 under the aegis of the Cultural Committee, SOA. The event was anchored by Arushi Rana and Pragya Kala of B Sc (Hons) Agriculture, semester V. Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Director SOA addressed the gathering by introducing Guest Speakers. There were two lectures scheduled. Dr Rattan Singh, Assistant Professor SALS, Uttaranchal University delivered a lecture on ‘Right to Safe and Nutritious Food: Pathway to a Healthier and Brighter Future’ and Er. Raja Joshi, Assistant Professor SOA, Uttaranchal University delivered on ‘Food Safety and Nutrition: Cornerstones of the Right to Food and a Healthier Tomorrow’. Both the lectures were interactive and fruitful for the gathering. Lectures proceeded with the questionnaire round. Guest Speakers invited the students to put the doubts which were aptly solved by the speakers. To conclude the celebration Dr Rajendra Prasad, Head of the Department, SOA proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated the effort of the Organizing and Cultural Committee.
