World Water Day

 

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University under the “Guard of Green Club” organized a Speech competition on World Water Day, 22 March 2024. The theme for the speech Competition was “Water for Peace”. The event's purpose was to raise awareness about the issues related to the lack of fresh water. It also aims to promote sustainable water management practices, inspire all to act against water wastage and ensure access to clean water. 

To provide a platform for the students to exhibit their public speaking skills and awareness about the environment. 30 students participated in the event. The First prize was bagged by Anshika Gautam of B Pharm. II Semester while the Second prize was won by Karthik Joshi B.Pharm. II Semester and the Third prize by Prakriti Joshi of B Pharm, II Semester. Certificates were also distributed to participants. The competition was judged by the jury members. 

The competition was conceptualized and conducted under the guidance of UIPS Dean Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola appreciated the students' efforts in highlighting the various environmental issues and ways to combat them. The event was coordinated by Mrs Poonam Joshi, Assistant Professor, and Ms Sonali Rawat, Assistant Professor, UIPS Faculty.
