On the vibrant occasion of International Women's Day, the Women Cell of Law College Dehradun, under the auspices of Uttaranchal University, organized an Inter-college Poster Making Competition on 05 March 2024. The competition, themed "Inspire Inclusion - Through Economic Empowerment" and "Save Girl Child," aimed to ignite dialogue and creativity around two pivotal aspects of gender equality. Approximately 20 participants showcased their artistic prowess and advocacy skills through compelling visual representations. The posters portrayed a myriad of perspectives, ranging from the economic empowerment of women to the imperative need to protect and nurture the girl child.
The adjudication was conducted by the esteemed Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola, whose expertise and discernment ensured a fair evaluation process. After careful deliberation, the first prize was awarded to Vasha Upadyay of UIT for her poignant portrayal of economic empowerment leading to societal inclusion. Sreemoyee of LCD secured the second position with her visually captivating depiction of the significance of saving the girl child and the third prize was a tie between Anant Singh of LCD and Kristy Patel of SOA, whose thought-provoking posters underscored the urgency of collective action in achieving gender parity.
The competition not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also served as a catalyst for meaningful discussions on gender equality and women's rights. Through their creativity and vision, the participants contributed to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment and renewed commitment to the cause of gender equality.
