Guest Lecture on "AI Services using IBM Cloud"

 

Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organised a guest lecture on "AI Services using IBM Cloud" on 12 June 2023. The Guest speaker of the session was Dr Mani Madhukar, Programme Manager IBM India Pvt. Ltd. The event was graced with the presence of Shri Jitender Joshi Ji, Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Satbir Sehgal, Vice-President, Uttaranchal University, Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Budhhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Dean, Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Mr. Vivek Saxena, IT head, Uttaranchal University. 

The programme began with the welcome of the guest speaker by Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Dean of USCS, followed by the lamp lighting ceremony. In her address, she stated that guest lectures are the best way for all to get acquainted with the current situation and challenges. It helps everyone improve their learning more interactively.  

Dr. Mani Madhukar has worked across many technologies, including cloud, blockchain, the internet of things, data science, DevOps, AI, and IBM Watson, and has contributed to ecosystem development with stakeholders from ISVs, startups, and academia. He has warmly interacted with the faculty members. He introduced IBM cloud services and elaborated on the implementation of IBM Watson Studio. The participants learned to find the best algorithm for their datasets without wasting much time analyzing different algorithms. The session was interactive, with a question-and-answer round after the lecture. 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma Dean, USCS, extending her gratitude towards the guest speaker. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Harshit Gupta, Mr. Praveen Shah, Ms. Divya Rawat, Ms. Manisha Saini, and Ms. Manisha Khanduja.
