School of Liberal Arts organizes one week FDP on “Public Relations and Psychology in Today’s Education”

School of Liberal Arts, Uttaranchal University organized a one-week Faculty Development Programme on the topic “Public Relations and Psychology in Today’s Education” from 12th May, 2022 to 18th May, 2022.  

The FDP was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar, Dean - SLA extended a warm welcome to the guest speaker and enlightened the participants with their words on the topic of the FDP. Prof Kumar emphasised the need for such programs in the unprecedented times and said that the teachers’ ability to communicate with the students to mentor, coach, inspire and motivate is essentially needed to improve the teaching-learning process as well as to refine a student’s perspective for their growth and overall well- being.

This FDP aimed to address the educators’ understanding of the psychology of the students and to provide them with intense care and the right guidance. Through this FDP, the faculty members have understood the importance of Public Relations that they have to manage with the parents of the students as well as with the management on behalf of the students.


The keynote speakers for the FDP from National Level were:

  1. Prof.(Dr.) B R Gupta, Former HOD, Journalism and Mass Communication, BHU
  2. Prof.(Dr.) Sanjay Pandey, HOD, Journalism and Mass Communication, Vivekanada Global University, Jaipur
  3. Mr. Nimish Kapoor, Senior Scientist and Head, DST, Govt of India
  4. Mr. Asit, Founder, The Good Sight, Lucknow
  5. Ms. Shikha Mishra, Assistant Professor & Executive Member of PRSI – Dehradun Chapter
  6. Ms. Jyoti Negi, IEC Officer, Govt of Uttarakhand


On a concluding note, Dean – SLA proposed a vote of thanks to all the guest speakers and the participants for making it a success.

The FDP was coordinated by Dr. Reeta Rautela, Head – School of Liberal Arts, Dr. Jitendra Sinha, Head – Journalism and Mass Communication and Dr. Pinky Chugh. All the members of the faculty have participated in the FDP.  The certificates were given to all participants who cleared the exam with 80% of marks.
